Larry and Suzy want to get married, but there is a catch: he’s a drug addict. Can a marriage counselor solve all their problems before Suzy can enjoy her church wedding? Can Larry beat a narcotics rap? And what is up with the weird “Psychological Distance” diorama in the counselor’s office?
This mashup blends two “social welfare” films from the 50s, “Drug Addiction” (1951), and “Are You Ready for Marriage?” (1950), both starring the legendary John Galvarro, a ephemeral film mainstay who eventually left the bright lights of cinema to become a stockbroker.
